As the debate over abortion becomes more intense, Hollywood has pushed a new series to promote abortion propaganda and sway public opinion in favor of infanticide.
The series in question is “The Morning Show” on AppleTV+, which stars Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon – both abortion advocates. The third season of the series touches on the controversy surrounding abortion, as highlighted by the overturn of the Roe v. Wade ruling. In particular, it zooms in on the story of a young woman who smuggles abortion pills from Mexico into Texas.
Journalist Alex Levy (played by Aniston of “Friends” fame) and anchor Bradley Jackson (played by Witherspoon of “Legally Blonde” fame) are determined to cover the story of the pregnant woman. In the process, the show portrays smugglers of abortion pills as “life savers” and pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) as “fake clinics.” The show insinuates that abortion advocates are heroes and those defending the lives of pregnant women and unborn babies as villains.
“‘The Morning Show’ may be filled with pro-abortion propaganda, but it’s clearly very short on the truth,” wrote Cassy Fiano-Chesser for Live Action News.
Hollywood isn’t just pushing abortion propaganda on the small screen; it also does so on the big screen. Pro-abortion films such as “Never Rarely, Sometimes Always” and “The Glorias” from 2020, alongside “Unpregnant” and “Call Jane” from 2022, have advocated for infanticide.
Fiano-Chesser noted that the portrayal of PRCs in Texas as “liars” who are “sick” and “insane” is far from the truth. In reality, abortion facilities were the ones known to have misled women about gestational age, fetal development and the risks of abortion. Several studies have proven the advantages and benefits of PRCs in the lives of pregnant women and their unborn babies, offering free services like healthcare, housing, baby supplies, educational opportunities and more with over $270 million budget in a year.
She also debunked the idea that abortion pills are safe and effective by citing studies that these pills can be riskier than having a surgical abortion in the early stages of pregnancy.
One study conducted by the Gynuity Health Projects found that six percent of women who took abortion pills experienced complications requiring hospitalizations and blood transfusions while four percent needed surgical procedures. In a separate but related study conducted in the women of the U.K., the result was the same — six percent of them required treatment for complications.
A third study even suggests that the actual complication rate might be higher because some women are advised to lie. They are goaded to claim that they have a miscarriage instead of admitting they took abortifacient drugs, skewing statistics on complications related to abortion pills.
The smuggling of abortion pills from Mexico into Texas portrayed in “The Morning Show” came about as a result of the abortion ruling overturned by the high court. But for pro-life advocates, the overturn marked a huge victory against infanticide.
Per the data released by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in 2022, abortion cases in the Lone Star State declined by 97 percent following the overturn of Roe v. Wade in June of that year. (Related: Abortions in Texas drop 97% after Roe v. Wade overturn.)
In January 2022, Texas recorded 2,533 induced terminations of pregnancy (ITOP). The HHSC reported 2,596 abortions in June – the same month as the overturn. But come July, this number plummeted to just 68.
