Following the news that an LGBTQ bar in Dallas recently held a children’s drag show, Texas State Rep. Bryan Slaton introduced new legislation that would make this type of thing a crime.
Slaton issued a statement about how “the events of this past weekend were horrifying and show a disturbing trend in which perverted adults are obsessed with sexualizing young children.”
“Drag shows are no place for a child,” he added. “I would never take my children to a drag show and I know Speaker Dade Phelan and my Republican colleagues wouldn’t either. I will be filing legislation to address this issue in the new [Texas Legislature.]”
The disturbing incident took place at a bar called “Mr. Misster,” which branded the drag event as “child friendly.” Two creepy and disgusting neon glow signs affixed to the wall inside the facility read “It’s not gonna lick itself” and “I licked it so it’s mine.”
During the event, drag queens were seen and heard asking children to come on stage if they thought they “can do it like we do.” They also asked underage minors if they “want to be a diva,” instructing them to choose a drag queen partner.
Parents (if you can even call them that) were seen handing their young children money to go stuff into the drag queens’ outfits, similar to what adults would do at a strip club.
The event was called “Drag the Kids to Pride” and was branded on social media as being a “family-friendly spinoff of our famed Champagne Drag Brunch.”
“Mr. Misster’s Drag The Kids To Pride Drag Show provides the ultimate family friendly pride experience,” the bar wrote on its Instagram page.
“Our under 21 guests can enjoy a special Mr. Misster Mocktails while the moms and dads can sip on one of our classic Mr. Misster Mimosa Towers. Do you want to hit the stage with the queens? We have FIVE limited spots for young performers to take the stage solo, or with a queen of their choosing!”
According to Slaton – and really all reasonable and decent people – this event at Mr. Misster’s was highly inappropriate. It epitomizes the pedophilic grooming trend that is sweeping America at breakneck speed, including in “red” states like Texas where such things at one time would have been unheard of.
In addition to trying to ban children from attending drag events that seek to sexualize them, the Texas legislature is also pressing onward with efforts to ban “sex change therapies” for minors, dubbing such procedures as “child abuse.”
Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton have both indicated support for that plan, as well as others that involve investigating parents who facilitate the transgender mutilation of their children through surgery and / or drugging.
“I promised my voters that I would stand up for their values and fight to protect Texas kids,” Slaton says.
“I was re-elected on that promise and I intend to keep it by authoring legislation to defend kids from being subjected to drag shows and other inappropriate events. I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass this important legislation.”
In the comment section at Natural News, one person wrote that we also need to go after the doctors who perform such atrocities on children to hold them accountable.
“If they practice this barbarism, then they need to go to jail,” another one wrote.
